Well, Maybe Not So Much...
So the Labor Day Weekend wasn't as labor intensive as I'd originally planned. Partly due to laziness. Partly due to being too pissed off to do anything.
Friday evening ended badly, with db informing me he had every intention of keeping Bob until 6pm Monday and there wasn't shit I could do to stop him. As if that weren't dicky enough, he had Bob call me to say he wanted to stay with daddy for "138 days" (his idea of "a long time") because I never let him stay with his daddy and he wants to stay with him and he doesn't want to come back to my house.
Way to drag a 5 year old into your bullshit, fuckhead.
At any rate, I did go shopping Friday night after drop off (and frantic phone calls to the GAL). I did try on numerous dresses that made me look either fat as hell or fast approaching a due date, and ripped the shit out of one clearance item at Macy's. (Note to self--no matter how big it appears to be, you are by no means a size 4. That ship has sailed. Get over it.) I finished up by buying groceries at Target. Including meat. Lots of meat.
Saturday, Gretchen came over and we went fabric shopping. She brought a really pretty brown and cream fabric with her that just happens to match the colors of my future bedroom, which she turned into a beautiful window treatment. And I picked up a vase and tray at Joann that were on clearance and mirror the fabric colors. Score! Also found fabric for tie-up shades for Bob's room (if only I could find the actual window measurements--dammit). Anyway, I have to say, Gretchen is a dynamo on a sewing machine. I just sat there and watched like a dumbass.
Yesterday, I bought the pre-stretched canvases at the art store ($9) and painted them with the paint I had leftover from the Cabinet From Hell that happens to match my bedroom stuff (free) and decided to use that same color to paint the dressers ($8). I haven't started the dressers yet, and I might pick up a darker brown paint to mix with the lighter brown, because otherwise, I'm afraid that between the dressers and the cabinet and the bathroom walls, it's going to look like I've gone slightly mad over one shade of beige-brown paint. Which I kind of have, but I don't want it to be obvious.
So this week, I'm probably going to start painting the dressers at some point. (We're supposed to get rain, so I might just do it in the middle of the dining room floor.) I also need to buy paint and Kilz for our bedroom, the master bath, and the main hall bath. I might wait to paint the hall bath until after we get unpacked and slightly settled, but I definitely want to get our bedroom done first--I don't think I can wake up to those mustard-yellow walls even one morning.
Ten days. Ten. Days. I think I can make it, even if only because there's still so much to get done between now and then.
Oh, and I didn't end up finding The Perfect Dress. I found a Good Enough Dress in my closet. I put it on yesterday to be sure it still fits, walked into the room where Ben was, and said "this is what I'm wearing, and if the stick posse doesn't like it, they can kiss my fat white ass."
So there.

So I'm curious .. what did the GAL say for you to do ... lemme guess .. document everything and it will be addressed before "official" order has been signed? What a TURD. And you're right about being a db for manipulating poor Bob into the mix.
What an ASS.
I am so sorry.
As for G and the sewing machine....I can't wait to see the curtains!!! Dynamo is right!
Dynamo? Bwahahah!
Next time I'll bring my machine and we'll tackle your closet.
