Bossman decided to end the week by taking advantage of the decent weather and trying to finish up the "shed" he's been building for the last two months. So who knows when (if) he'll be in today. Good news for me.
We survived our first un-Bobbed evening. It was weird. When he's gone, the absence of his never-ending chatter creates a deafening void in the room. It's like losing an appendage or something. But we went to dinner and did some other grown-up things (nudge nudge, wink wink) before settling in on the couch for t.v. time. I had to suffer through an hour of "The Office" before my beloved "Scrubs," but it was worth it just to hear Dr. Cox say he wouldn't be tipping the coffee stand employee unless said employee planned to give him "a complimentary reach-around." I love that man.
Then we rented "Nacho Libre" from in-demand and dare I say it was only mildly entertaining. I fell asleep on the couch somewhere around 10pm and woke up at 11:30 to find myself alone, in the dark, on the couch. What the hell? Found my husband in bed and woke him up to ask him why he left me there. "You looked so peaceful, I didn't want to wake you." Grmph. I ended up not being able to go back to sleep and wandering back out to the couch around midnight. He found me there at 4 a.m. and hauled my ass back to bed.
Things just feel weird between me and him lately. I don't know why--could be the enormous amount of stress we've been under lately (gosh, ya think?) but I hope it passes quickly.
Speaking of the source of most of our stress, db picked Bob up from school yesterday. I was hoping that could just go down nice and easy like a fine bourbon, but alas, this is db we're talking about. He pulled into the school parking lot and sat in his car for a good 5 or 6 minutes before two (count 'em, two) cop cars arrived. The police went to the door of the school and asked the teacher if she called them. She told them, "no, but I'm sure he probably did" and gestured toward db's car. They went to talk to him and returned to the teacher. "He says you won't let him pick up his kid." "Um...he hasn't even gotten out of the car since he's been here." So the officer went back to db, told him to go get Bob and keep his mouth shut or they'd remove him from the property. Db stood on the porch and waited for Bob, then called me as soon as he got home to say "you didn't give me any of (Bob's) medication." I told him I shouldn't have to, as he himself filled that prescription back in July or August and since Bob hadn't been with him since June, he should still have a month's supply or more. "I'm just telling you what the deal is. You'll figure it out." Click.
Then I called at 6:45 to talk to Bob. Db answered. I asked if Bob was available. "Read the court order." Click. Apparently, he read the court order, particularly the part that says each parent is allowed a phone call between 6-8pm every other day but doesn't specify which days, because I got a call from Bob at 7:15.
This morning, Bob's teacher called to let me know db started asking for all kinds of information when he got there this morning, and she ignored him. Leading db to tell Bob, "see, Miss L won't even talk to me." Nice, prick. Then he went home and emailed me about how mean the school is to him and how it's my duty to make sure they cooperate with him and Bob will probably have a bad day and be sent home early because of this and, by the way, his shoes don't fit.
Fuuuuuuuuck yooooooooou.
It is not my responsibility to be the go-between and mend fences with every adult you've pissed off. I don't have that kind of free time. So piss off.
If you hate someone hard enough...is it possible they might spontaneously combust?

hating somebody hard enough does NOT make that somebody spontaneously combust, I've been working on that one for over 10 years now ... just doesn't happen!!
How about if we gang hate him, all at the same time, on the same day, at the very same minute, while chanting some mantra (of your choice)?!
DB makes me pray. Pray for forgiveness for all the horrible things I wish upon him.

What Teri said...
OMG. db and PITA must be the same guy! LOL
