Freaky Friday

First, I bought this ring from Mom-o-Matic's Automat:

And I've been wearing it ever since I took it out of the cute little package. Not only that, I had to go to Target last night and buy a very hot pink t-shirt out of the maternity section so I could wear it today with my very cute candy ring.
If you like jewelry that either looks like something edible or is just plain quirky and fun, you should check her out. But keep your mits off that blackberry bracelet. That sucker is mine.
Secondly, Bossman isn't here yet today. I'm hoping it's because he took my words of yesterday to heart--essentially, "keep your sick ass at home because I've got enough shit going on and I don't need to add 'having the flu' to the list." Last week one of the secretaries was out with it. This week, our receptionist. And yesterday he stood in my office and told me he was starting to get all achy and cold. Which is when I gave him that "get the fuck away from me" look and the aforementioned speech. So far, so good--I don't feel any less healthy than I have. I'm hoping Fate decides all the other bullshit I've been dealing with is cause for my own personal Get Out of The Flu Free Card.
Thirdly, Bob appears to be over the sharting. No further incidents since Wednesday, thank goodness. That said, I'm worried that this medication may not be the be-all-end-all we thought it might be. I upped his dose yesterday (a day earlier, but who's counting), and while he had some issues in the morning, by afternoon, he had settled considerably. At one point, he refused to do some math work, but after being told he'd have to either do it now or finish it during free time, he mulled it over and made the right choice. Which is huge. So maybe it will work for him, and we just need to keep tweaking the dose til we get it right. Which is equally scary--you don't really know what the effect of this medication will be 20 years from now. But what's worse--some possible effects years from now, or his life down the shitter because I didn't give him anything? Talk about your Catch-22.
Fourthly, I asked db to take Bob to the school talent show this evening. Bob started in on me yesterday about wanting to go, and I told him "you'll have to ask your dad," and he freaked. I told him I'd ask db, but I wasn't holding my breath. I sweetened the deal by offering to let db pick Bob up from school (at 4pm) so they could go have dinner and then be back at school for the 6:00 show. Truly, I was expecting a dissertation on why I am not allowed to make plans during HIS time with Bob. Instead, he accepted. Freaky-deaky, man.
I'm tired. This week has totally sucked the wind out of my sails. Which would be another very good reason for Bossman to just stay home today--to give me an opportunity to sit back and stare, slack-jawed, at my monitor.
And maybe buy some more candy jewelry.

Thank you! I'm so glad you like it. I thought that was a really cool setting for the ring too.

Congrats on your pregnancy too. Expandable rings are good for that!
