Really, I Can Stop Anytime

I picked up my Zoloft at the drive-thru pharmacy yesterday morning. And I've noticed a measurable difference in my mood since I chucked down that first pill yesterday. Of course, there was also a (very tiny small) break in the heat yesterday, so my office was bearable until well after 3pm (the first day this week it's been less than 85 degrees in my office, mind you). So I don't know if the Zoloft was primarily responsible for my mood swing or not. If it was, that's more than slightly scary. I guess it shouldn't freak me out that I rely on a daily happy pill, considering I pump my kid full of happy pills every day, but it does. A little. It's the control freak in me. I don't like to think I have so little control over my own brain that a pill can make me or break me. (Which is why I never got into drugs--even drunk off my ass, I still have a toehold on reality, and that's of utmost importance to me.)

At any rate, I'm glad I had the Zoloft in me well in advance of this morning's psych appointment with Bob. And everyone's best buddy, db. He didn't speak to me, and I didn't speak to him, and the world is a better place for it. I know it makes Bob horribly uncomfortable, but I think it's the lesser of two evils--either we don't speak and make Bob uncomfortable, or we argue and make Bob miserably uncomfortable. The former is certainly better for my blood pressure. Probably for Bob's, too.

The cabinet from hell is still giving me fits. The tv won't fit in it unless I remove the back. But the doors look like shit, so they may have to come off, too. But I'm afraid removing the doors AND the back will render the piece horribly unstable and/or look retarded, as it will be pretty much just a shallow frame with a shelf. So maybe I'll just put the tv on the bottom half of the piece, and fix the top half for use as...I don't know, a bookcase or curio cabinet of a sort. I used it that way before Bob was born, when I was living in the basement of my old house and the cabinet together was too tall for the space, and it works. Yeah, maybe that's what I'll do.

Now...which room to put it in...

**Update: answer to cabinet dilemma--allow husband to talk you into putting the tv in the family room, leaving you free to leave the cabinet in its current form, meaning you can finish painting the stupid thing and put...something...in it after the move.

You may not wish to hear this, or you may be relieved, but you were probably having withdrawal from Zoloft. It's not that you can't ever stop Zoloft without your mood swinging like that, but you do have to taper it off; stopping suddenly will do that to you every time.

Glad to hear you're feeling better!
