Eat This, Bitches
Can I just take this moment to say I get really, really tired of the whole "let them eat cake" attitude so many people--women in particular--have these days?
Women who think that, because their own husbands make enough money for them to be stay at home moms or work part-time or hell, do whatever the fuck they want to do, and in fact, encourage them to do so, everyone's husband does. Women who think that, because they have read every fucking article in every fucking "How To Be The Best Mommy You Can Possibly Be" magazine, they know more about parenting your child than you do. Women who think they have the market cornered on the happy and fruitful marriage. Women who remind me of those little bitches I went to public school with for 13 years who thought their shit didn't stink and had an entire society of assholes ready to back them up on that assertion.
So here's my plea to anyone who reads this blog--if I ever, ever come off as some pretentious holier-than-thou whore and make you think to yourself, "hey, sister, it's not as simple as that for some of us out here," PLEASE, let me know. Leave an anonymous comment if you feel you must, but leave a comment. I promise not to hate on you. Really. Because the last thing I want to do is present myself as some over-privileged silver spoon who has never really known the meaning of "struggle."
(And yes, I understand I am not from "tha block"--I'm a white girl from a small town in the midwest where getting ready for bed involves setting the parking brake on one's trailer--and there are many, many people out there who have had much harder knocks than I and persevered--and more power to 'em. I'm just getting really tired of women whose biggest life decision was whether to take the morning or evening poli sci class in college because they didn't want their sorority activities to interfere with their studies thinking they have any right to tell me what to do or what to think or what to say.)
Bitch session over--we now return to our regularly scheduled programming.
